Sponsored Walk to Wells - photo's below

As part of the diocese's 1100th anniversary celebrations, a sponsored ‘Walk to Wells' took place on Saturday 19 September with groups and individuals walking from within the diocese to Wells. Walkers were met by the Bishop at the Palace in Wells, and all took part in a barbecue. The evening entertainment in the grounds of the Bishop's Palace included music from The Wells City Band and the jazz band Dury Service. 
All sponsorship raised will be shared equally between our diocesan Zambia Link through the Kit for Kids initiative and The Children's Society. We shall confirm the amount raised very soon.
The Walks were enjoyed by all who took part. Bishop Robert from Zambia managed to meet up with most of the walkers and obtained photographs of the occasion which are shown below. Bishop Peter thoroughly enjoyed the whole event, so much so that it is suggested that there will be a further sponsored walk next year...watch this space!
The diocese is still accepting donations for The Children's Society and the Kit for Kids in Zambia, please do feel free to make a donation at the office, however small, to these two very worthy causes.
