Peter Gunstone.
Peter Gunstone is a musician, liturgist and explorer of creativity. He is currently the Music Director for St Andrew's Oxford, where he seeks to lead their musicians, technicians and other creative practitioners to develop a mission-shaped community that enables the church family and others beyond it to engage with God in worship.
Peter will be leading two 1 hour workshops as follows:
"Northern Streams"
This workshop will explore (with contextual information) worship material from the Iona Community, the Northumbrian Community, Safe Space (Telford), and from the Holy Island of Lindisfarne.
"Taize Worship"
Taize Chants have become an important part of worship, but have we experienced and understood the fullness of the spirituality of the Taize community, and the impact that this has had since the Second World War? Peter has worked with Br Paolo of Taize, and will seek to bring something of this through history and a time of worship, using material from the Taize community.
Andrew Maries. "Instruments In Worship"
Can you 'play skillfully upon the harp' or 'blow the trumpet in the new moon'? Then come and join this workshop led by Andrew Maries exploring the use of instruments in worship in a variety of styles. Bring your instrument along and be ready to make a joyful (and even tuneful) noise to the Lord! (Please indicate on the booking form the details of your instrument and roughly your standard)
Andrew is a Diocesan Consultant for Liturgy and Music in the Exeter Diocese. He works throughout the country encouraging music and worship across the styles and at every level through the Keynote Trust.
